Iowa City Food Not Lawns is an active group designed to provide networking and resources for the communities in and around Iowa City that seek to establish regenerative living systems within the urban setting. This includes the integration of neighborhood food production, edible landscaping, water collection, beneficial use of waste, resource sharing, and a commitment to increase local dialogue, education, and social justice by raising awareness of these basic components of living.

MONTHLY

POTLUCK

MEETINGS

We will now be having monthly potluck on the 1st Sunday of every month. They will begin at 5pm and will be held at Alicia and Olivia's house at 424 Bloomington St by default. Let folks know if you are interested in hosting one of these monthly bonanzas. This will be a time to eat, talk, bond, laugh, and discuss the issues.

WORK MEETINGS: THE NEXT BIG THING

The nitty-gritty, project-specific, skill-sharing kinda items that we often discuss as a group are things that we could probably cover while picking greens, digging sod, watering herbs, spreading compost, or doing any of those other exciting garden tasks that there are to do. So why not organize these kind of interactions and exchanges around workdays. Be on the lookout for a list of skills and needs, and more discussion of this topic in general.
